What a year.

BIG real life changes.
Very LITTLE gaming.
Virtually no internet connection.. tethering via my iPhone and 3G isn't game friendly.


It's been 12 month since my last post!



Here's a list of some things I'll be doing in the near future when time permits.

Will be checking out Doom 3: BFG Edition and see if it works with my nedDOOM3 [RealDamage] Mod.

I'm curious about Far Cry 3 co-op.

TomTom over at the FritzBot forums is back working on waypoints which is awesome news! I'll be having a look at them for sure..




All servers are offline for now and have been for several months.

2011 is nearly over. I certainly hope I get more gaming done in 2012 than I did this year! Even my home server was down for most of it (sorry for those asking and me saying "soon" for most of the year). Work commitments were very high but so far next year is looking resonable as far as time goes.

This brings me to what I've just setup at home. For my test server I now have ADSL 2 and it's live. Testing will start sometime in January to see how the modem gets on etc.

My gaming machine finally now has Windows 7 and decent sized HDDs. My Playstation 3 now has a good wireless connection after the installation of a wireless extender.


Here is where the good service mentioned in the title of this post comes in. Some of what I wanted done I either didn't know how to do or it would have taken me too long to do, eg. mirror RAID my two new drives and set up the wireless extender.

I gave Marc Wannenmacher Computer Specialist, Computer Repairs Gold Coast a call. He was the preferred IT guy at one of my old places of work so I was confident of his skills but I was unsure if he would want to do what I required. He said yes and was happy to come over in the evening which is a big plus for me! Flawless and convenient service at a fair price. When he left, everything was running exactly how I wanted it to run.

Lionel Rose dies aged 62

Legendary Australian boxer Lionel Rose has died aged 62.

He had been ill for several months.

Rose beat Japan's Fighting Harada in 1968 to win the world bantamweight title and became the first Indigenous boxer to win a world title.

He had 53 fights for 42 wins.

Rose was named Australian of the Year in 1968 for his achievement.

This is an easy to use WYSIWYG (What You See Is What You Get) HTML editor. I used this recently to make a readme for the SWAT4 reticle mod. I know zero about HTML so this program helped me, a lot! For full details of what this software can do, visit the site.

I've changed my current #1 gaming interest from Enemy Territory: QUAKE Wars to Left 4 Dead.

I still think ETQW is the one of best multiplayer games ever made but unfortionately for me, many others don't agree. For now my #1 gaming interest is L4D. I'm progressing quite well through the achievements. Some of the ones left are going to be very tuff to get. Details - here.

I'll have a L4D server up and running by the end of the week I'd say. More details soon.
