[ET] Raw Castle TE (Final) released!

Yes it's late but it's here. redRum left mapping in pursuit of his musical passion. This combined with a hard drive failure meant this map stayed at 99% complete for many years. I ended up in contact again with him and he gave me permission to finalise as much as possible and release Raw Castle TE. It's not 100% finished but it's 99+ % complete.

Raw Castle Tournament Edition
A Wolfenstein: Enemy Territory custom map.




The allied army has taken a farm in East Anglia. There is a castle down the hill, the Axis are using it as their stronghold. The fortress is strongly defended by an old big wall which the Allies will have to pass through. Valuable documents are resting in a vault inside the castle. Will the Allies be able to steal and transmit them?

For those that remember the beta version of this map, here's the changelog..
- Fixed the Allied spawn bottom MG's position.
- Fixed the terrain leaks.
- Added the raw_final siren for etmain.
- Non significant changes in the terrain shape.
- Retextured the whole terrain.
- New shader for the hay vanilla texture.
- Removed the resting water.
- Added a slick shader brush onto the frozen lake.
- Removed the alpha texture around the lake borders.
- Fixed light leaks.
- Unclipped the lasting lights that could block players eventually.
- Removed the trickjump spot at the back of the castle.
- Improved vis blocking.
- New phong shaders for the castle towers' textures.
- Lowered the white fog.
- Fixed the command map custom icons.
- Fixed the custom vo sounds.
- Added a locations file for etpro.
- Fixed spelling errors.
- Added surfaceparm alphashadow to the tree models' shader.
- Modified tree clips so it's harder to step on their top.
- Changed default worldspawn and func_groups lightmapscale (1.0) to 0.3.
- New texture transition for the caves' entrance.
- Fixed the tree models' texture conflict.
- Fixed the limbo objective descriptions for both teams.
- Added two new textures.
- Realigned many textures.
- Non significant brushwork changes.

Known issue.

In some parts of the map the mortor will detonate in the sky. This was a known issue in earlier versions and was fixed by red to a point where practical use of the mortor will mostly work.


The map on release is 99+ % complete.

The website is back up with some notes from one of the devs saying future updates to this mod are in progress - LINK.

This mod adds a scoreboard to the Enemy Territory map Baserace by Cptn Triscuit.


The Score is Tied! 0
The Axis/Allies are ahead by 1! +1

Baserace overview

Its a race, to build your base! Steal Construction Materials from your enemy's base and secure them at the various 'Capture Pads' located in your team's base. Different capture pads correspond to different base constructions and upgrades. Capture Pads can be used multiple times to upgrade constructions. Additionally, constructions can be 'synergized' by completing combinations of other constructions. The first team to complete 40 constructions or have the most completed when the timer runs out wins!

In case you haven't noticed I'm moving all of the forum content over to the blog. I've decided to work on the Enemy Territory section next. It's the largest one to do and I was going to tackle it last but there have been some Fritz Bot mod updates over the last few months that I'd like to have a look at. The latest update is from TomTom. He's made a waypoint pack for the map Warehouse (final) by zig-zag. Details - here.

I'll be working on the ET section in groups. More details soon!

[ET] new maps for ET Pro server

I've added a couple of new maps to the ET Pro server.

Tutorialjump 2 (///PALE)
This replaces the first version. Looks much better with greater options. I'm a trickjumping noob myself but it's there for others to use if desired.

SW Battery (eiM)
This is a modified version of the default ET map 'Seawall Battery'. It's been modified and set up for Stopwatch play. Here are the changes:
- Allies Beach Spawns outside of water
- Bunker MG is now dynamitible door which leads to bunkers back
- Axis Bunker Spawn is set back a bit
- Axis Spawn at Commandpost until Allies built it
- Backdoor is blowable
- Spawntimes 30/20
- Made some doors wider (bunkerstage)
- fixxed "wallhack" leak at backdoor
- CP Spawn for allies
- Maptime 12
- removed railings
- removed several details due to low fps
- added 2nd way into controls bunker
- added wooden constructible backdoor barrier
- little hole at west bunker for axis to defend the Bunker Door



Both maps are downloadable from the server at high speeds.

I've set up a map-cycle to give the FritzBots a good run on some of the recent waypoint packs released.

[ET] FritzBot server update

420Blunt has made a playable version 1 waypoint pack for Rail Gun! Due to the mod not being finished, this map has eluded waypointers for quite some time. It plays OK but needs feedback... it's a 'work in progress'. Contact me with feedback or post on the official FritzBot forum - link.

TomTom has updated his Glider 3 pack to version 0.05
-improved CP use
-better balancing
-note: island spawn still not being used (for now)


Both updates are now on the server. There have been quite a few new things happening with FrtitzBot support recently so a full night of play testing is coming soon!
