I've added ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead to my to-do server list. An awesome coop military sim! Initial server testing went well, I just have to tweak bandwidth and difficulty settings to my liking. A small amount of custom content will be added. Test nights soon.

R.T. Frisk has updated Suicide Blitz to v4 Complete.
Both server updated.

I think this is the first custom campaign to utilise the new exploding barrels introduced in 'The Sacrifice' release :)

v4 HOTFIX

- Fixed custom sounds not playing after The Sacrifice update; also fixed the klaxon sound bug when zombies burn
- Tweaked the train dynamic a bit to better accommodate playing with survivor bots
- Added some exploding barrels
- Misc Nav fixes
- Fixed some faulty textures

[L4D} Hunter Training update

eyeonus has released a small update for Hunter Training. The recent big game update which included 'The Sacrifice' has caused a few issues with custom campaigns and maps. This update addresses that for Hunter Training.
Added personal spray to challenge map. Call it my autograph.
Fixed problem caused by "The Sacrifice" DLC in L4D2.



Both servers have been update to v4.1

[L4D] Dead Before Dawn

For those that don't know.. Dead Before Dawn is a custom campaign based off the 2004 remake of Dawn of the Dead.




Some recent news..
Nearly a year ago, we released a beta version of Dead Before Dawn to try and satisfy those who kept nagging us to release the campaign. We did just that and then suffered the wrath of the internet. Well, ever since then, we decided not to post any more news or media about the campaign until we feel it's ready. We did exactly just that, we kept updates to a minimum...

We have successfully overcome these obstacles and the campaign works in VPK format

A few weeks ago, we sent out a link to all the people who has ever donated to L4DMods. This link allowed them to download the RC for Dead Before Dawn. They had their hands dirty with the campaign and so far we have not received any serious issues with the campaign. Other errors we missed have already been fixed and everyday we have a new version with previous errors fixed. Although, there is always more work to be done when working on a campaign, what remains will be dealt with over the coming months. We can however assure you, that the future updates are only for minor things that are lower on our list or priorities. The campaign works in every aspect of the word.

* Fixed the need to type "snd_rebuildaudiocache" in the console to hear our custom sounds
* Fixed specific mission music and sounds from The Sacrifice DLC not playing when Dead Before Dawn is installed.

Left 4 Dead has recently had some significant updates..
- Fixed a few third person camera cheats.
- Added VPK audio cache support.
- Added "The Sacrifice" content.
- Added Versus Multi-Map Scoreboard
- Added the L4D2 Mounted .50 Cal

- Fixed demos crashing on load

Some things to note:

"Added VPK audio cache support" - A bit late but this enables custom mappers to add custom sounds to their work and for us not to have to use the snd_rebuildaudiocache command in the console to be able to hear them.

"Added "The Sacrifice" content" - more official campaign, versus and survival goodness! ..and five new achievements!

Two in two days!

DeadCity has been updated to v4.0 and is on both servers.

All Chapters
-updated nav mesh to match all changes
-update all skyboxs
-rebuild map sound levels w/new sounds
-type in console: "snd_rebuildaudiocache" this will rebuild your audio sounds

Chapter 3. Draw Bridge
- add feature jets flyby
- add rain storm sounds
- extra models & sounds

Chapter 5. Water Plant
- fix error flow: "smoke_exhaust_01"!

[L4D] DeadCity Campaign update

There's quite a few changes with this update.
Both servers now run v3.0

[Crayon Physics Deluxe] 2D and it rocks!

Crayon Physics Deluxe by kloonigames is a delightfully addictive and challenging 2D physics puzzle game where you solve puzzles with your artistic vision and creative use of physics. Such a simple concept and it been worked perfectly. There's a demo available and I highly recommend giving it a run. It's great to kill some time with. It's also fun to even work as a team if someone is there with you. Don't dismiss this as a child-only game. It gets quite tough in parts!

Crayon Physics Deluxe is also available in iTunes. I tried it on my iPhone and while it's a nice idea the size of the screen relative to your fingers makes it difficult to navigate your drawings. You do get used to it to a point though. I'd like to try it on an iPad..

[L4D] Hunter Training map plugin added to servers

eyeonus, the author of the Hunter Training map made a plugin for this map. It's of benefit for both L4D and L4D2 servers. I've decided to add it to both the main and test L4D servers.

Some things to note..
You do not need this plugin to play multiplayer on L4D dedicated servers, however, I recommend getting it anyway, as it will make your server much less able to be highjacked, as it will not enable all cheats, but merely those listed below.

whenever HTM is loaded, the cheats it needs will be enabled, and whenever any other map is loaded, the plugin will disable them, preventing abuse that could happen otherwise.


Changelog:
1.0 - Initial version
1.1 - Removed all unnecessary variables.
1.2 - Add hook for noclip to make it actually work - merely removing its cheat flag wasn't enough.
1.3 - Added "kill" to the cheat enable list, restricted "give" to "give health", restricted "z_spawn" to exclude tanks and witches, made enabled noclip function like normal, fixed minor bug that causes servers to bork on map change.
1.3.1 - Added check to restriction on give and z_spawn to only restrict when "l4d2_htm_mp_enable" = 1.
2.0 - Added manual start of Live Fire Course settings to admins for any map and removed need to manually reset anything on map change.
2.5 - Add "respawn", "respawn_all", updated "htm_training_start" to also change game mode to versus and teleport bots back to start when they get to the end of the map. Requires "htm_mp_enabler.gamedata.txt" to be in gamedata folder for respawning to function.




I'll add some L4D specific notes for this plugin soon..
