Well there I was surfing the net for all things gaming on one of my machines when FREEZE!!

*comp freezes
*restart comp
*send error report
*microsoft tells me hard drive failing, back up data asap
*i said to myself in true Australlian style "she'll be right, will do that soon"
*two days later hard drive fails ;p


Sooooo, projects etc are on hold again until i sort this out. I have my good mate BRENNY HAX on the job to recover as much as he can from the drive and rebuild my system. In the meantime I have no email either. All should be good within a week :)

CrapShoot has made a fix (FritzBot mod) for the Return to Castle Wolfenstein Assault map where Axis Engineers were planting dynos that weren't blowing the gate hatch.

Since my test server went offline TomTom has updated his CAHA: Tavern (beta2) pack to v1.01

1.01 Release update w minor bug fix by TomTom February 27, 2008
- Minor bug fix on Gen A dyno actions (were not turning off because one was linked to un-enabled disarm only actions)
- Added back in one extra dyno on gen A, and adjusted the locations and radii.
- Reused remaining actions for smoke cans
- minor gen A aiscripts changes
- New bot created to replace Timmy in recognition of nedd3hs help in this and other maps.

Hello!

I'm currently moving house etc and have had little time to do anything lately. This in combination with the test server being offline has ment everything has been on hold for a while and looks to be the same for another week or so.

Once I'm moved in etc the server will be back online and time will be my friend again ;p

Well this game is getting better after each patch. Some would say too little too late but the fact remains its evolving into a good multiplayer game in my opinion.

This latest patch (v1.3) adds new maps, Objective mode (like the original MOHAA), bug and balance fixes. This in combination with the previous patches gives us a top game for online play! It also still has punkbuster support.

This is something I've wondered about for a while now. Yes I know it's a game in the MMORPG genre and I've watched people play it but I've never really had a grasp of it. That is until now! NO, I'm not playing it but after reading an excellent review by Wiz_74 from TOG things are now making some sense :)

I've always been curious to know how this game works and why it's so damn popular. To someone like me, ie. someone who has never played any game within this genre, this article is refreshingly informative and noob friendly.

A couple of quotes from the review to note:

• I quickly realised that it was made to run on almost any computer and scaled up and down an incredible amount

• It’s easy to play and anyone can jump in and within a few minutes be running around killing and questing to their hearts content while at the same time, it caters for the hardcore gamer very well.

^^^ just that alone is close to a winning formula in my opinion.

Well it had to happen! It started with the Quake III map q3dm6 which was one of the more popular default maps. The layout has proved to be very popular with remakes being made for UT 2004, Doom 3, Quake 4 and now UT3.

DM-Campgrounds2K8 is a beautiful map and well worth the download. It plays well in UT3 and feels good. The only negative in my opinion is the map's skybox. I find it blurs and it looks out-of-place... BUT... when playing the map you would probably never even notice it ;p
