Well, many know the motherboard on my test server died a while back. I now have a better test server to work with. I set it up only to have the hard drive die! So I bought a new one and continued. Then my graphics card on my gaming rig died (fun times). I went out a bought a new graphics card but when I installed it I soon found out it takes up so much space in my case that I have to keep the hard drive cage outside of the case.. then I find out my power supply won't run it!!! Soooooooo, I got a new PSU as well. I'll get another case soon.
For those that don't know. I have two internet connections at home, one being for the test server. Game servers running 24/7 are run via
NETWARS.
Old test server
Gigabyte GA-M55plus-S3G
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 4200+
2x 1GB Veritech RAM
New test server
ASUS M2N-SLI Deluxe
AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core 6000+
2x 2GB OCZ DDR2 PC2-6400 RAM
My gaming comp
Intel Core 2 Quad CPU Q6600
Gigabyte GA-X38-DQ6
2x 2GB GeIL DDR2 PC6400
I had a standard Nvidia 8800GT.
Now I run an MSI N580GTX Twin Frozr II with a Corsair HX1000W PSU.
My games sure do look nice now! The biggest improvement for the games I own and have upped the graphics settings on is Far Cry 2. Next step is to get Win7 ultra as I'm still on XP and a new Lian-Li case.
I have a few servers to get running.
Here's the order I'll be working on..
-Far Cry 2 [test server] *DONE*
-Mumble Voice Comms [test and main server]
-Left 4 Dead [test server]
-Enemy Territory (ET Pro mod) [test server]
-Battlefield 2142 (PB testing) [test server]
-Quake 4 (Q4MAX mod) [test server]
-ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead [test server]
-ARMA 2: Operation Arrowhead (Private Military Company) [test server]
-S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Shadow of Chernobyl [test server]
Oh and I'll be setting up a
Brink server for the test and main asap when released ;]
