The Left 4 Dead servers lately have been crashing if more than one person joined. This now appears to be fixed. With the help of TOG Unknown we isolated the issue to SourceMod v1.3.0
• Both servers now run SourceMod v1.3.1 • Escape from Toronto: A New Nightmare updated to v5.4 from v5.1 • various map links updated
Thanks to TOG Unknown for crash-help and playtesting and Nanni Tani for playtesting.

Battlefield Bad Company 2 is a recently released shooter for PC, PS3 & XBOX 360. The original Battlefield Bad Company game was released on console only.
I don't know how the console players received this game but from what I've seen, PC players are loving it. From Battlefield veterans to Call of Duty players, many are loving this game for it's online element. For me though I think Battlefield 2 (v1.5) is the superior online game but that's another story.
Battlefield Bad Company 2 has a singleplayer campaign.
Many PC players will be saying..
--What's a singleplayer? --BF:BC2 has singleplayer? --Yeh that's what you do when your internet is down...
BF:BC2 has given me some of the best singleplayer gaming I've ever experienced.
*stunning *intense *engaging *FUN!
Serious game - NO Did I mention FUN? - YES
Before I started the campaign I really wasn't expecting much. I thought at best it may look good but will probably be a token addition to the game. I was wrong!
Dense jungles : deserts : snow-torn mountains : destructable environments.. You'll get about 8 hours of play so two nights will do it for most. I highly recommend playing this singleplayer campaign. The game is worth the money just for this alone..... and then there's the online modes..
I give the BF Bad Company 2 Singleplayer Campaign 9/10. The only reason it doesn't get a 10 for me was the lack of Co-op. Being able to share the experience with friends would make this Campaign close to perfect. I would love to see this in a future patch! Spending a day with mates playing as 'B' Company working our way through the Campaign..

[COJBB] Call of Juarez: Bound In Blood crosshair_helper removal mod

I was looking forward to Call of Juarez: Bound In Blood. It's the prequel to the Wild West 2006 action shooter Call of Juarez. I played the original Call of Juarez demos but found they crashed a lot which put me off. I had faith in this recently released prequel though and bought it on release day. I was hoping they would release a solid western style shooter considering they already had a title to get feedback on etc. The result was positive and I've played many hours without one crash :)
There was one thing though that annoyed me (besides the lack of server cvars)... the crosshair_helper... that ugly circle right in the middle of the screen! For me it is so bad I couldn't play it. It ruined the immersion for me. I would have at least liked some menu options for the croshair setup.
Anyway, I've put together a small simple mod to remove the hud_crosshair_helper. It works for single and multiplayer. Multiplayer servers do not require the file for a client to use it.

• Hunter Training map updated to v3.0 and is on both servers.
Hunter Training is now L4D2 compatible, see readme for details. If too much of the map is modified specifically for L4D2 then this may be the last time I update this map for my L4D servers.

Looks like the next MOH title is due late 2010. I'm unsure about the modern aspect of it but time will tell if it works.
Rather than setting the next game in the traditional WWII theatre, the new Medal of Honor will put players in the more modern war-torn Afghanistan.
Operating directly under the National Command Authority, a relatively unknown entity of handpicked warriors are called on when the mission must not fail. They are the Tier 1 Operators.

Croteam (developer) and Devolver Digital (publisher) recently released a High Definition verion of the original Serious Sam: The First Encounter and are working on a HD version of Serious Sam: The Second Encounter to be released 2010. For anyone who has even had the slightest amount of fun with Serious Sam you NEED to get Serious Sam HD: The First Encounter!!
The indie sensation Serious Sam: The First Encounter is reborn in glorious high-definition for legions of long-time fans and a whole new generation of gamers around the world. Developed by Croteam and powered by the next-generation Serious Engine 3.
The game is stunning! Upcoming goodness includes Demo recording, Deathmatch, Dedicated Server support and more. There will deinitely be a few test nights for this game when the dedicated server pack is released. One VERY cool note regarding next years release of Serious Sam HD: The Second Encounter is that it'll feature an all new Co-Op Tournament mode that will allow teams to compete with one another... nice :)

The front page is a chronological account of my workings, server updates and gaming news while the static pages hosts full details of each server/mod. Other things will be posted on occassions but it'll mainly be gaming related.
